Behind the Scenes of the Statewide Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony
Attorney General David Yost announced on Friday that the best of Ohio police officers will be honored at the upcoming “Statewide Law Enforcement Awards.” The 21st of April, on the Sunday at the Ohio Statehouse will take place the awards ceremony. This ceremony will honor this outstanding group of individuals as well as members of Ohio State University’s Police Department for their service to society. It is expected that over 450 police officers will be honored.
Honorary Public Security Officers
At his Law Enforcement Conference, the Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost recognized the top police officers of Ohio as well as those who work in conjunction with their. The event featured many workshops focusing on topics such as how to solve cold cases, establishing trust among community, federal hate-crime laws as well as leadership education.
The annual ceremony also recognized five peace officers as well as one civilian for their contributions. They include Cmdr. Meader, a 31-year Columbus police officer, who was the head of his department’s Training Bureau.
Chief Deputy Wilson is a public safety agent in the Miami Valley, who has worked for a substantial portion of his time working outside the badge. His public service has won him many awards. In recognition of his efforts his work, the Dayton nonprofit he worked with was recognized as one of the top 10 African-American males.
Gregory Perry is a native Ohioan and is the director in the department of criminal justice and law enforcement. He is a police agent whose goal is to help them become strong and efficient.
Anti-abortion activists applaud Dobbs decision
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case that women’s right to choose to abort is not covered by the First Amendment.
Even though the landmark civil rights case was widely celebrated, there have been many questions and concerns about it. What will this ruling have for women living in the US and across the world? What will this decision mean regarding abortion clinics?
The abortion opponents raised concerns about the possibility that, in addition to evident concerns over an abortion ban in the federal government it could also cause a backlash against abortion in the U.S.
A Center for Reproductive Rights report states that more than 12 states will likely pass law against abortions in the next year. In addition, Republican legislators are reportedly seeking to block abortions at the national level.

It’s always an exciting time to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the day you began your term as an office holder, particularly when you’re an attorney general. The Ohio attorney general John Yost has set some big goals in his first year as attorney general.
He said he would like to give the state’s 35,000 police officers annually trained and raise the level of accountability for pharmacist benefit managers who manage Medicaid. Additionally, he said that it would be nice to see the opioid drugmakers participate in prevention efforts.
The American Legislative Exchange Council actually has model legislation that states can use. In the American Legislative Exchange Council’s mission says: “Attorneys and legislators must collaborate to create legislation and policies that can ensure that we make America amazing again.”
Yost’s legal department is not at all familiar with the filing of lawsuits. Yost’s office was involved in 23 lawsuits against federal government. The most famous actions include suit challenging bump stock which can transform the gun into an automated weapon.
The senator also supports the professional police licensing system. If he won reelection, he’d be thrilled to have more money to train Ohio’s police officers, who number 35,000.
Presidential initiative by the Attorney General
Attorney General’s Awards to recognize Distinguished Service in Policing recognizes law enforcement officers and their commitment to efficient and professional policing. These awards go to law enforcement officers who are sworn as well as individual state, local or tribal sworn officers. Stark State College’s Law Enforcement Academy is the winner of the award this year.
People vs. the National Association of Attorneys General was initiated by the NAAG just recently. Hate. The organization aims at providing assistance and tools to people who suffer from hate in their own communities by this campaign.
The NAAG along with other activities, will offer analyses and research for Attorneys General offices and training to people in general. Additionally, the NAAG collaborates with Attorneys General in order to stop extremists from gaining followers and creating tools to help people in the community.
The NAAG will be focused on holistic ways to tackle hate to fight it. It will also partner with the Attorney General efforts to encourage youth to resist to hatred, treat individual and collective trauma, and bring about a stop to violence.
